The project

From intent to something buildable.

This fabrication detailing sheet, developed by Daniel Morales, presents the stainless steel intake screen used in a lake water system. The structure's function is precise and essential: it filters water as it enters the intake line, allowing clean flow while blocking debris and foreign materials. The assembly combines stainless steel 316 framing and perforated metal panels, forming a durable, corrosion-resistant filter designed for long-term performance in a submerged environment. Each component, from tubes and plates to welds and fasteners, is clearly identified and dimensioned for fabrication accuracy. Though simple in fabrication, the structure reflects Daniel's ability to translate a specific technical requirement into a clean, buildable, and efficient solution that fulfills a critical role in water infrastructure.
